How We Process Your Form Submissions
The forms on the Website run on the Lexomatic platform, a legal document and client management platform that a separate company operates as our service provider. What you enter is stored in our firm's account on that platform and used only to prepare what you requested and to communicate with you. We deliver documents and analyses to the email address you provide through a cloud email service. Our service providers act under our instructions and may not use your information for their own purposes.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
The Website uses a session cookie and a security cookie to operate the site and protect forms against forgery. We also use Google Analytics cookies, including _ga and _ga_*, to distinguish visits and understand how people use the Website.
When you arrive from an advertisement or search result, the Website may store the link's campaign codes or click identifier, the landing page, and the referring site in your browser's local storage. If you submit a form, we attach that record to your submission to understand how you found us. Google tags may also receive campaign information for analytics and advertising measurement.
The Website does not display a cookie consent banner. Analytics storage is enabled by default. Advertising storage, advertising user data, and personalized advertising are disabled by default. You can manage advertising permissions under Your Privacy Choices. You can also restrict cookies through your browser settings.
Children's Privacy
The Website is intended for a general audience and does not offer services to children. If a child we know to be under 18 sends us personal information, we use that information only to tell the child that a child cannot use the Website.
Analytics Programs
We use Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads through Google Tag Manager to understand visits and measure advertising results. Google receives information about page visits, browser and device characteristics, approximate location, campaign information, and whether the Domestication form was successfully submitted. The submission event does not include your form answers.
Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish visits. Google's advertising tags can also send limited measurement signals when advertising permissions are disabled. Those signals do not use advertising cookies. Disabling personalized advertising therefore does not stop all requests to Google.
Google's explanation of how it uses information from websites that use its services describes Google's processing. Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on provides another way to restrict Analytics collection in supported browsers.
Your Privacy Choices
Your advertising choice controls whether the Website allows advertising cookies, advertising user data, and personalized advertising. These permissions start disabled. You can change or withdraw your choice here. Your choice applies to this browser; clearing browser storage removes the saved choice.
If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, the Website keeps advertising permissions disabled and turns off Google signals and ad personalization signals. You cannot enable advertising permissions here while that signal is on. Analytics remains enabled.
To request access, correction, deletion, or another privacy right, email support@privatecounsel.com.
Third-Party Websites
The Website may link to websites that other parties operate. We provide those links for your reference only. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their contents or their privacy practices. Read each website's privacy policy before you use it. A link does not mean that we endorse the website's material or are associated with its operator.
Do Not Track
Do Not Track is a browser preference that tells websites you do not want to be tracked. The Website does not respond to Do Not Track signals. You can turn the preference on or off in your browser's settings.
Your Privacy Rights Under State Law
We serve clients throughout the United States. If you live in a state whose privacy law gives you rights over your personal information, you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you and receive a copy of it
- Correct it
- Delete it
- Opt out of its sale, of its sharing for targeted advertising, and of profiling
Those states include California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia. Google receives analytics and advertising measurement information as described above. You can keep advertising permissions disabled through Your Privacy Choices.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@privatecounsel.com with your request and the email address you used on the Website. We will verify your identity by confirming that address and respond within the time your state's law allows. If we deny a request, you may appeal by replying to our response. We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights.
How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep the information you submit for as long as we need it to provide what you requested, to keep the records that the rules governing lawyers require, and to comply with law. After that, we delete or anonymize it.
